THOMASVILLE — The community’s first feline exhibit was the cat’s meow.
Some 26 felines and about 150 humans attended the Miss Kitty Feline Sanctuary Cat Strut Sunday afternoon at Belvedere Commons.
The event was part of a weekendlong observance of the Sanctuary’s first anniversary.
The Sanctuary is a no-kill facility operated entirely by volunteers and funded by private donations.
During three days of celebration, about 250 people attended various activities, said Jerry Henderson, Miss Kitty president and founder.
Other events included an open house at the Covington Avenue facility and a session about Thomas County’s feral cat situation.
